
An Englewood neighborhood incident involving gunfire aimed at a Chicago police officer highlights the ongoing challenges of urban policing. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, on Wednesday evening, a Chicago Police officer was driving an unmarked squad car in the 300 block of West 60th Street when two individuals in a vacant lot began to open fire. The officer, fortunately, was uninjured, and it remains unclear if the squad car sustained any damage. As of the report, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting.
Further details about the incident were reported by CBS News, where it was specified that the officer passed three people, with two of them choosing to openly begin shooting as the officer drove by.
