In a recent announcement from the Utah County Elections Office, Kaylee Smyth has been duly recognized as Utah County's Employee of the Month for July. This accolade comes as a commendation for her outstanding service and dedication within the department, particularly in her role ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the voting process. According to Utah County, Smyth's nomination was spurred by the enthusiastic commendation of a coworker, Brian Voeks.
Smyth's role in maintaining voter rolls and handling data crucial to the electoral process has set a high bar for efficiency and precision. Voeks vividly illustrated Smyth's work ethic, stating, "Her cheerfulness, reliability, and competence make her exactly the type of employee every manager hopes for and the type of coworker everyone loves to have on their team," as per Utah County. The praise didn't stop there, Voeks also noted her unmatched data entry skills, a critical component to consistently accurately associate signatures and process voter registrations.
Her contributions, however, extend far beyond the scope of her prescribed duties. She's the face that greets the public at the elections office, doing so with kindness and warmth. Her positive demeanor is not just for show, as detailed by Voeks, "She gets along with everyone; her coworkers admire her, and her supervisor constantly praises her contributions and attitude. She brings positive energy to work every day," as obtained by Utah County. The impact of Smyth's professionalism is felt throughout the department, reinforcing the amicable and efficient environment she inhabits.
The signature verification process for a statewide referendum posed a substantial challenge for the office, with 64,000 signatures needing verification. Smyth was ready to tackle this head-on, eagerly embracing extended work hours and weekend shifts. Voeks shared, "No one processed more signatures than she did—and more importantly, her work was accurate," as noted by Utah County. This feat, seemingly just another day for Smyth, underscores the exemplary work ethic and dedication she brings to Utah County's electoral processes.
