The Vallejo Police Department confirmed the city's eighth homicide this year, claiming the life of a woman who succumbed to her injuries after being found with a gunshot wound last Saturday. The Police Department, as detailed in a press release and corroborated by a report on Hoodline, is now desperately seeking leads to piece together the circumstances surrounding her death.
Responders discovered the victim on the 400 block of Admiral Callaghan Lane around 1:30 AM, immediately providing assistance and rushing her to the nearest hospital in a dire attempt to save her life. Despite fervent efforts by medical personnel, she was pronounced dead at 12:32 PM that day, initiating a homicide investigation that now seeks to untangle the sequence of events that led to such a violent end. The identity of the woman is being withheld pending notification of her family, as the Solano County Coroner's Office has yet to make a public disclosure, according to Hoodline.
Simultaneously, the Vallejo Police Department issued a call for public assistance through a notification. Detectives are requesting information on any suspicious behavior noticed along eastbound Interstate 80, especially between Tennessee Street and Redwood Parkway, around the time leading to the grim discovery.
With the investigation in its critical early stages, Vallejo Police have made an appeal for witnesses, or anyone in possession of exterior surveillance footage that could provide insights, to come forward. Detectives Jarrett Tonn and Daniel Callison are the primary contacts for tips, which can be rendered anonymously through a designated tip line if confidentiality is a concern. "If you witnessed or have any information regarding this case, please contact Detective Jarrett Tonn at (707) 648-5427 or via email at [email protected] or Detective Daniel Callison at (707) 648-4533 or via email at [email protected]," detailed the request shared by the Vallejo Police Department.
