A Vancouver man, identified as Suliaman Abdul-Hadi, 24, stands accused of raping a 12-year-old girl after providing her with alcohol, according to reports from KOIN. Abdul-Hadi, a Level 3 registered sex offender, has a history of sexual offenses and was under GPS monitoring at the time of the alleged crime. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree and third-degree rape of a child, and is currently held in Clark County Jail.
Details of Abdul-Hadi's capture emerged a week after the reported incident, with KGW stating that several police units and detectives, using a drone, dramatically executed to serve a search warrant at the accused's residence. Attempts made by Abdul-Hadi to escape were thwarted by a K9 team. Furthermore, authorities are investigating the possibility of additional victims and have revealed that Abdul-Hadi was not residing at his registered location, hence concealing his whereabouts from the Department of Corrections and sex offender registry.
KPTV reports that Abdul-Hadi has been charged with numerous offenses, including second-degree rape of a child, third-degree rape of a child, and failure to register as a sex offender. He allegedly tried to flee his home on Northeast 143rd Avenue when officers came to execute the search warrant but was quickly apprehended.
The Vancouver Police Department believes Abdul-Hadi may have targeted numerous other child victims, as detectives continue their investigation into his activities. Vancouver Police Department has noted that he primarily targets young girls between the ages of 11 and 17. The community is now being urged to come forward with any relevant information that could aid in uncovering further incidents, as per KOIN.
