
The City of West Palm Beach has garnered a top-tier accolade in the realm of parking and mobility, having been conferred with the Accredited Parking Organization (APO) with Distinction by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI). This award not only cements West Palm Beach's reputation as a leader in the field but also serves as a measure of its sustainable and innovative approaches to transportation.
Mayor Keith A. James expressed his pride over the city's accomplishment, stating, "We are honored to be recognized by the International Parking & Mobility Institute with the Accredited Parking Organization with Distinction designation - the highest standard of excellence in parking, transportation, and mobility," underscoring the city's ongoing dedication to service, sustainability, safety, and innovation, these words mirroring the ethos and ambition of the civic administration, as noted by the City of West Palm Beach.
In order to secure the APO with Distinction status, West Palm Beach had to satisfy stringent requirements, proving adherence to over 100 criteria across 14 categories and additionally showcasing more than 60 advanced best practices; this is a feat acknowledging the city's premium services and operational excellence. Shawn Conrad, CAE, CEO of IPMI, explained the significance of this achievement, noting, "This achievement is the top benchmark of success in our industry, and it follows a comprehensive documentation and review process," which delineates the arduous path and high benchmarks entities must meet for such esteemed recognition, according to the city's website.
