Quick action by WEST COMM 911 and the White Settlement Police Department resulted in the apprehension of two individuals from a reported stolen vehicle that had traveled into their jurisdiction from Fort Worth. According to a social media post by the White Settlement Police Department, the car, originally reported stolen from San Antonio, was identified by a license plate reader as it turned north on S. Cherry Lane from Calmont Ave.
The successful coordination between multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Westworth Village Police Department and the Fort Worth Police Department, facilitated a felony traffic stop. The presence of technology, in the form of a license plate reader, played a pivotal role in tracking the stolen vehicle as it entered White Settlement. The White Settlement Police Department expressed gratitude for the support from neighboring police forces in handling the situation.
While the arrested individuals have yet to be charged as the investigation is ongoing, the interception thwarted any potential further illegal activity that could have been carried out with the stolen car. It provides a clear, if not cautionary, reminder to those engaging in criminal behavior that technological advancements are enhancing police capabilities. The names of the implicated individuals have not been released at this time; however, updates are expected as the case progresses.
