
A 43-year-old woman has died following a boating incident at Lake Pueblo State Park. As reported by 9News, Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials stated that the accident happened on Saturday, around 4 p.m., when the woman came into contact with the engine propeller of a motorized boat.
First responders and park rangers were immediately alerted to the scene after a 911 call, and the woman was quickly escorted to the North Shore Marina where attempts were made to save her life but despite efforts she was pronounced dead by the Pueblo County coroner at 5:14 p.m. as detailed by a CPW statement, which also indicated that the circumstances surrounding the incident are under current investigation.
According to The Gazette, the accident occurred at Denver Cove, a midpoint location on the lake near the north shore. This has been the fifth death recorded at Lake Pueblo State Park since May, according to unofficial counts.
As stated by FOX21 News, Joe Stadterman, Park Manager, expressed heartfelt sympathies on behalf of CPW, "CPW offers condolences to the family and friends of the victim and everyone involved in the incident," as the community comes to terms with the loss and seeks answers in the wake of the tragedy that unfolded in the serenity of Lake Pueblo State Park.
