Tragedy struck at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Muirwood Way in Antioch yesterday when a 13-year-old boy was severely injured while riding his bike. According to a press release from the Antioch Police Department, a Nissan Pathfinder collided with the young bicyclist at approximately 6:46 PM.

The boy, who was unresponsive and on the ground following the crash, received immediate aid from officers before being life-flighted to the hospital. He remains in critical but stable condition. In their preliminary assessment, the Antioch Police suggested neither alcohol nor drugs were involved. Remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities was the 24-year-old male driver of the Nissan.
