A 14-year-old boy is currently recovering after an overnight shooting incident in southwest Atlanta's vicinity, local authorities report. As per information given by the police, the teen suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm and sought aid at Grady Memorial Hospital early yesterday morning. Atlanta News First provided details that the shooting took place near 327 Peters Street SW, close to Esco Restaurant & Tapas, leading the injured youth to run roughly a quarter mile to 296 Northside Drive SW in search of help before transporting himself to the aforementioned hospital.

Once at Grady Memorial Hospital, which is located at 80 Jesse Hill Junior Drive SE, officers reported that they found the victim "alert, conscious, breathing and was being attended to" by medical personnel. Despite his injuries, the boy managed to communicate with the staff and authorities. It was just before 1 a.m. yesterday when the police were called to the scene of the emergency room, as FOX 5 Atlanta reported.

The Atlanta Police Department Major Crimes Unit is handling the investigation. Their detectives are actively piecing together the circumstances leading to the shooting. However, as of yet, the police have neither disclosed the identity of the boy nor provided any information regarding potential suspects linked to the incident.
