A 73-year-old Ponchatoula man faces numerous charges after being arrested on child pornography allegations, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported. Arthur Palmisano was taken into custody last Monday, with the accusations involving juveniles under the age of 13, as reported by WGNO.
Officials were tipped off to the illicit activity when child sexual assault material was uploaded to a search engine for the purpose of finding similar content. Following this upload, investigators pinpointed Palmisano’s address as the source of the online activity, which led to the execution of a search warrant at his home, according to FOX 8 Live. The search uncovered dozens of CSAM files on Palmisano's devices.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office further stated that the investigation was part of a broader effort which included the Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office, the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, and assistance from the Hammond and Covington police departments. As of the report, Palmisano remained at Tangipahoa Parish Jail, though his bond information was not available, noted NOLA.com.
