
On Monday evening, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Highway 26 in Baker County, Oregon. According to statements made by the Oregon State Police, a Kawasaki Ninja operated by 74-year-old Michael Allen Klaus of Stanfield crashed near milepost 221.
Klaus was traveling westbound when he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and slid into a ditch. The accident led to a temporary shutdown of the affected portion of the highway for around two hours as authorities conducted an on-scene investigation, as reported by the Oregon State Police.
Klaus was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been notified. OSP was assisted at the scene by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
