Direct flights to Palm Springs from the Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport are now on the travel menu, thanks to Alaska Airlines expanding its West Coast network. According to Sonoma County's announcement, seasonal flights will be available from October through May, kicking off on Oct. 26. Five weekly round-trip flights will be operated by Alaska Airlines using their Embraer 175 jets, with a capacity for 76 passengers each.

Jon Stout, the airport manager, expressed contentment over the new route, observing its high demand among locals. "It's great to see Alaska Airlines pick up this route," Stout told the Sonoma County announcement, confirming that the airline will now service eight destinations from the regional airport. Despite this, the increasingly popular destination will be more accessible, prepping busy travelers and seasonal vacationers for easier getaways to the desert oasis.

Alaska Airlines stakes its claim as the only global airline headquartered on the West Coast, as Kirsten Armine, the vice president of revenue management and network planning, emphasized. "We're proud to offer the most flights and seats between California, Washington and Oregon," said Armine, discussing the new additions which meet the needs for both leisure and business travel across growing markets, as reported by Sonoma County.
