In Washington County, Union Gospel Mission is opening Angela's House, a transitional housing and recovery center for women and children. The 53,000-square-foot Rock Creek facility, funded with $22 million from private donors, can serve up to 80 people and has 56 rooms for single women and mothers with up to five children. Executive Director Matt Stein said it is "A place that exists when a lady says, 'I’m stuck, I need help, I’m scared' ... they can come in the doors here and get the help that they need," as reported by KGW.

Angela's House offers an education center, a kitchen, and on-site counseling services, including play therapy and trauma-focused counseling, according to KATU. More than 100 volunteers helped prepare the facility. The center is scheduled to open in mid-September.

Matt Stein said Angela's House at Rock Creek will offer educational and recovery services, including, "Ladies can get their GED, they can work on English, they can also do things like classes, use recovery classes, addiction classes, things of that nature," as mentioned by KPTV. The facility will also have a children's activity center and provide support for women and their children to rebuild their lives.
