The inaugural Arizona Chef’s Week is underway, offering unique, chef-driven dining experiences across the Valley. At Phoenix City Grille, owner Dennis Shaw noted an increase in reservations compared to the usual summer slowdown. “It’s hot! A lot of people go on vacation, a lot of people leave town,” Shaw said, describing the seasonal challenge, according to ABC15.
The event, which runs until on Sunday, offers special dining options across the Valley. At Phoenix City Grille, executive chef Corey Azure is serving a three-course menu created for the occasion. “I think it’s a good chance for customers to get outside their normal menu and see what these chefs do,” Azure told ABC15. The Arizona Restaurant Association organized the event, modeled after its fall and spring Arizona Restaurant Week editions, to encourage community support for local restaurants during the summer.
Phoenix City Grille, Beckett’s Table, Citizen Public House, and both Mexicano locations are participating in Arizona Chef’s Week. The event, organized by the Arizona Restaurant Association, features prix fixe menus priced at $55 or $66 per person. “This event is truly about local residents supporting local restaurants while experiencing an incredible meal,” said Steve Chucri, President and CEO of the association, as mentioned by AZFamily.
