Yesterday morning, tragedy struck along Interstate 4 near Lake Mary as a black bear was hit and killed by a vehicle. As reported by ClickOrlando, this incident occurred on the busy stretch of the eastbound side of State Road 46. Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) were promptly notified of the event, which took place around 1 a.m., resulting in the bear's demise due to the crash.
The scene was initially attended to by a road ranger, who was at the site, moving the bear to the roadside, reported FOX 35 Orlando. Subsequently, the FWC was called in to handle the bear's removal. Amid the early hours, when such scenes unfold much to the sorrow of wildlife supporters, the FWC's Bear Management Contractor was also involved, tasked with collecting the deceased animal.
Information surrounding the exact details of the bear's species or size remains unspecified in the reports.
