The Boston Police Department (BPD) District E-18 partnered with New Inspiration Church for a community movie night, bringing together local families and law enforcement for a screening of "The Lion King" at Ross Field in Hyde Park. The event featured not only the animated film but also free ice cream provided by the BPD Ice Cream Truck — a treat funded by the Boston Police Foundation’s COP Fund and HP Hood.
According to the official Boston Police Department website, the night was more than just watching a movie under the stars. It included basketball games and races where officers laced up their sneakers to engage in some friendly competition with the youth in attendance. The evening's activities were designed to reinforce the connections between BPD officers and the communities, they serve.
