
Following a violent incident late Wednesday night in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, police have taken a local man into custody after he was identified as a suspect in a stabbing that left another man wounded. According to a statement by the Boston Police Department, authorities received a call around 11:15 PM directing them to 514 Geneva Avenue where they discovered an adult male with a stab injury.
The victim was promptly attended to by officers upon their arrival and subsequently transported by Boston EMS to a nearby hospital, fortunately, with injuries considered non-life-threatening, the police continued to search the area and relying on the description provided by witnesses a suspect was apprehended on Devon Street. The Boston Police Department has identified Erinson Diaz Soto, a 22-year-old Dorchester resident, as the individual now facing charges for the crime.
Diaz Soto was arrested and is set to appear in Dorchester District Court, where he will need to answer to charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, namely a knife, as detailed by the police report. This local incident highlights ongoing concerns about violence in the Dorchester area and the fast response of law enforcement to such events.
