Officers from District B-3 of the Boston Police responded to a shooting at around 4:50 PM yesterday, at 24 Charlotte Street, Mattapan, where they found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. As reported by Boston Police Department's official website, the injured man was attended to by the officers and Boston EMS, subsequently being transported to a local hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
Acting on the victim's provided description, the police attempted to confront the suspects at an apartment on Charlotte Street. But with no response at their announced presence, they established a perimeter and elicited assistance from the SWAT team and the Boston Police Negotiations Team.
Following negotiations, two individuals emerged from the apartment and were taken into custody. Juan Soto Perez, 31, and Antonio Anthony, 60, both of Dorchester, are facing charges including assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class A substance. Their arraignment is scheduled at Dorchester District Court.
The apartment where the suspects were apprehended remains secured as the police await a search warrant. Through the tactical operation's careful maneuvering, fortunately, no additional injuries were reported, ensuring the safety of both suspects and officers involved. Details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the incident are yet to be disclosed.
