Amid the daily hustle of Union Avenue, an armored truck became the focus of an audacious robbery outside Orion Financial Bank. According to the Memphis Police Department's report, the incident unfolded on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, when at roughly 5:30 p.m., two suspects targeted the truck as its guard was busy servicing the ATM. Despite the swiftness of the crime, police were quickly on the scene following the emergence of the alarm.
In a twist of events, one of the suspects brandished a weapon at the guard, distracting him as his accomplice, described as a thin Black male, snatched the cash container. Wearing a black "Nike" ski mask alongside a red "Krystals" shirt, his identity was obscured further with red gloves and black pants. Witnesses watched, unable to prevent the suspects from escaping on foot, blending rapidly into the city's ebb and flow.
The Memphis community has been urged to play a part in the ongoing investigation. Anyone equipped with knowledge or details pertinent to the incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers. The authorities, seeking support from the public, emphasize that even small pieces of information may prove crucial. The notable attire of the suspects, especially the branded clothing, might serve as a key identifier to jog a potential witness's memory. Individuals with any information are prompted to assist by calling Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
