In Brentwood on Tuesday, a situation escalated when a man reportedly threatened two individuals with a gun, leading to his arrest and the discovery of illegal items at his residence. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Carlos Guzman of Brentwood, was seen by officers leaving the scene in a vehicle after the reported confrontation on the 7900 block of Lone Tree Way.
Upon stopping and detaining Guzman, detectives, propelled by the violent nature of the incident and Guzman's criminal history, secured a search warrant for Guzman's home. Inside, with the search warrant in hand and their investigational prowess, the officers found not just a stolen firearm, but also "a large quantity of narcotics," according to a social media post from the City of Brentwood Police Department.
Guzman's arrest has resulted in several charges being filed against him, including assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon in possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of drugs for sale.
