Residents who frequently travel via Angell Road should prepare to adjust their routes next Monday. According to an announcement made by Coconino County, the Angell Road railroad crossing will be temporarily closed on August 18 for necessary maintenance work. This closure, set to ensure the safe passage of both motorists and trains, will impact travel from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. The schedule might need to be quickly changed if weather conditions or other factors come into play.
The crossing in question is located roughly six miles east of Winona. During the maintenance period, drivers located north of the tracks will need to detour to the west via Forest Road 415, covering around four miles, to reach the Porter Ranch Road railroad crossing, as per Coconino County. Coconino County Public Works is working in tandem with BNSF to ensure the safety and awareness of emergency services about the closure.
