Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy Frank Launer III, 50, was arrested on Monday. Louisiana State Police investigated him for filing an insurance claim for a crash after getting insurance coverage for his vehicle.
In May, the Louisiana Department of Insurance alerted investigators about possible fraud. Authorities found that Frank Launer from Blanchard was driving without insurance during an April accident. After the crash, he bought insurance and then filed a claim for the accident. An arrest warrant was issued for him by the 1st Judicial District Court, according to the Louisiana State Police.
Frank Launer was arrested at the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of automobile insurance fraud. "The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office does not condone the alleged actions attributed to Frank Launer," Sheriff Henry Whitehorn said. He added, "We fully support the Louisiana State Police in their ongoing investigation into this matter." The investigation is ongoing.
