Residents and commuters in Carver County should prepare for upcoming disruptions due to roadwork on the Bavaria Road/Highway 10 (Engler Blvd) roundabout. Carver County Public Works announced two scheduled closures, designed to facilitate the final paving and striping phases of construction.
The first closure is set for Saturday, Aug. 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., during which time the final surface paving and temporary striping will take place. The following Saturday, Aug. 23, will see the roundabout closed again at the same time for permanent striping. Public Works notes that if inclement weather arises, backup days are slated for Sunday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 24.
These closures are critical for the continued progress and eventual completion of the road project, which aims to enhance traffic flow and safety in the area. Local drivers are advised to plan alternative routes in advance to navigate around the construction zone effectively during these times.
The interruption will be limited to the roundabout, with the stretch of Highway 10 (Engler Blvd) between Royal Oak Drive and White Oak Drive expected to reopen shortly after each closure period. This comes as a relief to those concerned about extended traffic disruptions, as the community looks forward to the completion of the much-needed infrastructure improvements.
