Commissioner Tashé Allen, alongside the District 3 Beautification Committee, has rolled out the Senior Yard Clean-Up Initiative, as announced on the county's official news portal. The program is targeted towards helping seniors aged 60 and over who are physically unable to maintain their yards.
According to the county's announcement, the service is available to five homes per subdivision in Clayton County District 3, with a stipulation that homes must be owner-occupied. The initiative is not a wide-sweeping overhaul, but rather, a dedicated effort to make a concrete difference in the lives of individual residents, one yard at a time. The deadline for sending in nominations is approaching on Monday, Sept. 29.
Residents who wish to nominate the homes of senior neighbors can do so by sending an email to [email protected]. The communication should include their name, phone number, the subdivision, and a list of five senior homes that could benefit from the yard maintenance services.
