
The Cobb County summer outdoor concert season is in full swing, with a slate of performances ranging from rap icons to soulful crooners at various venues around the county. According to the official Cobb County government website, notable upcoming events include the Southern Soul Rising Stars Festival at Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre tomorrow, and the Atlanta Joyfest with performances from Big Daddy Weave, Jonathan Traylor, and Riley Clemmons on September 2.
Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre's lineup also boasts an August 30 show featuring rap legends Scarface, 8Ball&MJG, Too Short, and others, starting at 7 p.m. The following evening, hip-hop pioneers Doug E. Fresh, KRS-One, Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane will take the stage at the same venue. For those looking to wind down midweek, the amphitheater offers Wine Down Wednesdays, which provide free lawn or terrace seating, though table seating is available for $20 with mandatory reservations.
Free concerts continue at various locations, including the End of the Line event on Saturday at The Art Place - Mountain View in Marietta and the Sounds of the Springs series in Powder Springs. Notably, Sept. 20 marks Yacht Rock Schooner's performance at the Amphitheater at Depot Park in Kennesaw, with free general seating and an option for reserved seating. Glover Park's Concert Series in Marietta will also feature Soul Carter / Funk and Soul on August 22.
The concert series caps off with the Blue Velvet Atlanta performance on October 18 in Smyrna as part of the Blanket Concert Series offering free music from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Marietta's series concludes with Davis and the Love on Sept. 26 for a night of variety pop hits.
