Cochise County has joined forces with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to call upon the local community for their insights on the upcoming Moson Road Corridor Improvement Project. This collaborative study focuses on a 7.8-mile stretch of road extending from Hereford Road to State Route 90, setting the groundwork for future upgrades designed to enhance traffic flow and safety. The project will roll out in phases, starting with the widening of both the Barataría Road intersection, which will receive new left-turn lanes, and the Ramsey Road intersection that's slated to see improvements on all sides.
The second phase will tackle Hereford Road to Ramsey Road, broadening the existing intersections to accommodate exclusive left-turn lanes on the north and west, along with an exclusive right-turn lane on the east. Shoulder widening and better roadway drainage are also on the cards, emphasizing the scope of the project in addressing a comprehensive range of transportation concerns.
Recognizing the value of community engagement, Cochise County has planned an open-house public meeting for Thursday, September 18, 2025. From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Community Innovation Center located at 4251 Enterprise Way, residents can gather detailed information, ask questions, and most importantly, provide their feedback which is crucial to the project's success.
