Collierville's firefighters and EMS crews continue to up their game, thanks to ongoing partnerships within the local community. In a recently surfaced post by Collierville Fire & Rescue on social media, they remarked on an occasion "over two years ago" when they had the chance to conduct live training burns at a site off Bailey Station Road, made possible by partnerships with Orgill Corporation and Argo Construction, among others. This piece of training, they noted, was a seldom-served opportunity that has since rippled into future preparedness.
The crews weren't just invited back to remember the old times, but to tour the brand-new facility Orgill has planted in the training ground's stead. Not only did they get to walk the grounds, but they also received a comprehensive breakdown of the building's fire protection system, prime access points, and the locations of utility shutoffs. It was an engagement to effectively immerse them in the facility's layout, the sort to substantially make a difference when seconds count in a live scenario.
"With the help of Orgill and Argo Construction, firefighters and EMS personnel explored the building's fire protection systems, access points, utility shutoffs, and other key features that help us respond faster and effectively in an emergency," recounted Collierville Fire & Rescue via their post. Their sentiment carried a tone of tangible readiness—a step beyond the theoretical, into the flesh and bones of a structure they hope to never battle, but are now more prepared to engage, should the call ever echo.
