The City Council of Colorado Springs has put out a call for community members who desire to make a tangible impact on their city's future. Colorado Springs requires a new volunteer to join the City/County Drainage Board, a committee that makes crucial recommendations on storm drainage funds, flood control, and changes to regulations related to drainage.
This volunteer opportunity is open to any resident of El Paso County who can commit to attending the Drainage Board's monthly meetings. Those meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. at the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. The position on the board is a Citizen-At-Large spot, meaning the applicant should be ready to voice the concerns and considerations of the wider community regarding the city and county's infrastructure, according to the City of Colorado Springs.
The deadline to apply for this vacancy is swiftly approaching, with submissions due by September 5, at 5:00 p.m. Applications can be submitted online through the City Council's website or sent directly via email or traditional mail.
