
Concern is mounting for a missing 73-year-old man, Michael Olen Johnson, who disappeared earlier this week from his home in Overgaard, prompting local officials to issue a Silver Alert to aid in his search. The Arizona Department of Public Safety reports that Johnson, described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 178 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, was last seen on August 27 leaving his residence at around 6:00 P.M.
Johnson was wearing blue jeans and a long sleeve shirt of an unknown color at the time of his disappearance, and his mode of transportation was said to be a blue, 2024 Honda Pioneer side by side with Arizona license plate X5A08X; he left his residence located at 2000 Fishermans Road, his family now deeply worries for his welfare, anxiously hoping for his safe return. The Navajo County Sheriff's Office, who is leading the investigation, and Lt. Vanwinkle, the point of contact listed, urges anyone with information to come forward.
A detailed description of Johnson and his vehicle has been broadly circulated in hopes that witnesses can provide valuable leads. According to the issued Silver Alert, members of the community should immediately contact the Navajo County Sheriff’s Department at 928-406-7523 or dial 911 if they have seen Michael or have any information regarding his current location.
