The Contra Costa Sheriff's Office took to social media to mark the grim second anniversary of the unsolved homicide of Daniella Stephanie Avila, who was shot and killed in Rodeo while driving her vehicle late on August 26, 2023. The harrowing incident occurred around 10:30 PM at Mariposa Street and Vaqueros Avenue. Avila managed to drive a short distance further in search of aid. Despite the paramedics' attempts at resuscitation, she was pronounced dead at the scene, as published by the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page.
Avila, 28 at the time, has left a seven-year-old son behind. Detectives are relentlessly working the case, still calling for anyone with information to step forward.
The authorities are urging the public to contribute any relevant information that could lead to a breakthrough in the case. Detective A.
