The Acworth Police Department has taken two individuals into custody on charges associated with child sex crimes, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. The arrests follow an investigation sparked by a juvenile's report of being sexually assaulted.
The investigation, set in motion on June 22, saw officers swiftly responding to the juvenile's allegations. The victim's recounted experiences detailed inappropriate touching that led detectives to further probe the troubling revelations. Brent Trujillo, a 31-year-old resident of Dallas, along with Jordan Wright, a 30-year-old from Acworth, were subsequently identified and apprehended. Trujillo is now facing charges including three felony counts of sexual battery and child molestation, as confirmed by Atlanta News First.
Wright, on the other hand, has been charged with misdemeanor obstruction and multiple felonies. The list of allegations against Wright includes cruelty to children and three counts of sexual exploitation of children. This update comes again from the details shared by FOX 5 Atlanta, as detectives continue to unravel the extent of the abuse.
Both suspects are currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, and authorities have made clear the investigation is far from closure. In hopes to uncover possibly further hidden crimes, they are urging anyone with information to come forward and attentively contact Detective Hardy at 678-695-7600.
