A Mazda sedan, attempting to evade police, led authorities on a chase that, according to a social media post from Bourne Police Department, found its terminus on Alden Ave where the vehicle crashed, its occupants scattering into the arms of the night.
With the Mazda sedan first drawing attention from Wareham Police and then prompting Massachusetts State Police to join the pursuit after fleeing, made its ill-fated exit from Route 25, tearing down Route 6 & 28 before its crash. Fleeing on foot, the passengers vanished into the early morning darkness, prompting an extensive search. The Bourne Police Department stated that "The Massachusetts State Police also dispatched a K9 and the MSP Airwing to assist in the search," showcasing a significant deployment of resources to track down the perpetrators.
One 32-year-old female, hailing from Peabody, was found and detained, believed to be a passenger of the errant vehicle. The Massachusetts State Police took over her custody as the search continued for the others.
