Deerfield Beach residents will have a chance to securely dispose of their sensitive documents during a free shredding event on August 16. From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Fire Station 66, located at 590 S Powerline Road, will serve as the drop-off site for old bills, bank statements, and other confidential paperwork. The event aims to help residents declutter while protecting personal information through safe and secure document destruction, as per the City of Deerfield Beach's announcement.
Participants should remove metal binders and plastic covers from documents before drop-off, as these materials cannot be processed by the shredding equipment. Staples and paper clips are acceptable and do not need to be removed. Each Deerfield Beach resident may bring up to two boxes of documents for shredding.
Proof of residency is required for this residents-only shredding event. A valid driver’s license or recent utility bill must be presented at drop-off, as no documents will be accepted without proper identification. The event strictly enforces residency rules to ensure access remains limited to Deerfield Beach locals. More information about this event and future shredding days is available at www.DFB.city/cityshred. The site provides all the details on local services that help keep the community clean and protect against identity theft.
