Tragedy struck the North Riverfront neighborhood late last week when a man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting incident. Homicide detectives have taken the lead on a case that seems to have rattled the local community, leaving more questions than answers in its wake.
The deceased was identified as 31-year-old Trevon Bledsoe of Dellwood, MO. Just before 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, police received a call about a shooting at the intersection of North Broadway & Pope Avenue. Arriving swiftly, officers discovered Bledsoe with a gunshot wound, whose life ebbed away as he was rushed by EMS to the hospital, where he ultimately was pronounced deceased.
The violence did not claim a single victim. In connection with the same incident, there was also a second casualty, a 29-year-old woman, who independently sought treatment at a hospital for gunshot wounds. She has thankfully been listed in stable condition, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the prevailing darkness of this violent event.
While investigators are piecing together this violent mosaic, details remain sparse.
