The City of Glendale recently heralded the appointment of Djordje Pavlovic as the new Engineering Services Director. The news comes with Pavlovic set to commence in this leadership capacity on August 25, bringing with him over a decade of experience from within the city's corridors. He has previously contributed as a structural engineer and building official, heavily influencing the city's structural safety and integrity, as reported by the City of Glendale.
With nearly 40 engineering professionals under his direction, Pavlovic's role involves steering the city's infrastructure design and construction. This includes managing the myriad projects outlined in Glendale's $478 million Capital Improvement Plan. Sighted overseeing the construction process, his hand will play in determining economic solutions and coordinating various design projects. According to the Glendale announcement, he's expected to uphold a creative yet safety-conscious approach in his new endeavor.
City Manager Kevin Phelps, in a statement made by the City of Glendale, commended Pavlovic, saying, "In all my years of service, I can’t think of a more dedicated public servant than Djorde." City Manager Phelps added, "Time and time again, he has demonstrated that he is a solutions-oriented professional who uses creativity, without sacrificing safety, to achieve the best outcome possible." Phelps voiced anticipation for Pavlovic's continued diligence in serving the community.
Alongside his hands-on experience, Pavlovic holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Belgrade and has pursued graduate studies in Structural Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Furthermore, he's a certified Professional (Civil) Engineer by the Arizona Board of Technical Registration, as per the City of Glendale.
