Lori Vallow Daybell, coined as the "Doomsday Mom," has been extradited back to Idaho after securing a life sentence for her involvements in murder conspiracies in Arizona. This transfer marks the latest shift in a saga of legal proceedings that have captivated the public and drained financial resources. FOX 10 Phoenix reported that Daybell was transferred from Estrella Jail in Phoenix, and she is now expected to be housed at the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center in Idaho.
Following a trial in April 2025 where she represented herself, Daybell was convicted in Maricopa County for plotting the murder of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, and the attempted murder of her ex-nephew-in-law, Brandon Boudreaux. For the deaths of her children, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, and the death of her husband's late wife, Tammy Daybell, she is already serving life sentences in Idaho, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. In the latest development, her stint in the Arizona justice system culminated in two additional life terms.
Regarding the financial impact, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office disclosed to the 12News I-Team the costs associated with housing inmates. According to a statement obtained by 12News, the inmate custody fee is approximately $137 daily with an initial booking charge of $640. The total cost accrued from Vallow Daybell's 610-day incarceration in MCSO custody amounts to over $84,000, not including the additional costs leading to her transfer back to Idaho.
In total, the expenditures for Vallow Daybell's legal odyssey through MCSO custody exceeded $100,000 as of August 18th, without accounting for the most recent extradition fees. Her husband, Chad Daybell, was similarly judged in the Idaho case, receiving a death sentence and currently awaits execution on the state's death row, as reported by 12News.
