If you're carrying the weight of overdue traffic fines or have a bench warrant out in Dunwoody, there's a chance for you to clear your slate this September. Dubbed "Court Amnesty Month," Dunwoody Municipal Court is offering folks an opportunity to settle their accounts without the additional strain of contempt fees. It's a straightforward proposition aimed at giving people a shot at resolution and decreasing the likelihood of arrest.
According to a recent announcement released by the City of Dunwoody, this is a no-nonsense initiative geared towards helping people to "return to court and take care of their cases." Last year, over 50 individuals with failure-to-appear and warrant status cases found closure through this amnesty.
To partake in the program, individuals need to visit the Dunwoody Municipal Court located at 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays within the designated time frame of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. "If fines are paid in full, all contempt fees will be waived," Norlaundra Huntington explained.
Payment methods are somewhat flexible, accepting cash, money order, cashier checks, and credit cards; just don't bring your personal checkbook. Anyone who might benefit from this olive branch or know somebody who would, information is available through a simple phone call to 678.382.6973.
