Earlier today, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue responded to a residential fire that swept through a home on Burton Street. The distress call came at approximately 5:45 a.m., according to the local fire department, which also issued a social media post warning of traffic disruptions in the area. Murfreesboro TN Fire Rescue Department stated, "Expect delays in the area and use an alternate route while crews work to extinguish the fire and clear the scene."

A resident, away at work, observed smoke emanating from her home via surveillance camera and immediately informed authorities of a man trapped inside, reported WKRN. Firefighters discovered the individual in a bedroom filled with heavy smoke. He was urgently flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, though his condition remains unknown.
The incident, which drew multiple engines and firefighting teams, forced a lengthy road closure as responders fought to control and eventually extinguish the blaze. WSMV noted the presence of firefighters at the scene for several hours afterwards, ensuring no residual hot spots could lead to a rekindling of the flames.
The incident's origin is still under active investigation. The fire marshal has been called in to assist in determining the cause of the conflagration. Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue have not yet released additional details concerning the event or its potential causes.
