The intersection at Seminole Pratt Whitney Road and Northlake Boulevard is reopening to full traffic nearly a month earlier than planned. Starting tomorrow, the previously expected detours will no longer be necessary, as confirmed by the Engineering and Public Works department. The detour routes, which have been in place since July 29, were initially projected to last for 60 days as part of a widening project in the area.
Commuters should get ready for a change in traffic flow tomorrow. While northbound and southbound lanes on Seminole Pratt Whitney Road will now fully open, drivers will be required to stop before proceeding into the intersection. According to Palm Beach County's announcement, westbound travelers on Northlake Boulevard will continue being directed to a free-flow left turn onto southbound Seminole Pratt Whitney Road. Engineering and Public Works expresses its gratitude towards the community for their patience and understanding during these changes, aimed at improving the overall traffic efficiency within the County.
Moving forward, this interim traffic pattern will remain effective until a full traffic signal is installed at a future, unspecified date. The updates forming part of the larger road-widening endeavor are to ensure that safety and efficiency are at the forefront of the County's infrastructure goals.
