The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has issued a community notification about the residency of registered sex offender Peter Maurice Adams. According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Adams, designated as a “Sexually Violent Predator” (SVP) under state law, has moved to an address at 534 Loomis Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, within El Paso County's jurisdiction. The notification is part of the Sheriff’s Office's efforts to keep the public informed and to monitor Adams’ compliance with his legal obligations.
Adams has fully complied with his requirement to register with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, and they assure the community that "every reasonable step" will be taken to ensure that he continues to meet his registration terms. The Sheriff's Office has gone to great lengths to fully review Adams' background, confirming details such as his address, employment, and vehicle access. Neighbors and local businesses have been notified, with the Sheriff's deputies briefed on Adams, his history, and his physical description to more effectively keep watch.
Adams' criminal history includes convictions for Sexual Assault of a victim less than 15 and 2nd Degree Kidnapping, in which the victim was subjected to a sexual offense, dating back to 2007 in Colorado. In an effort to maintain transparency and enable community safety measures, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has also publicly posted an Online SVP Community Notification video on their website, giving residents direct access to as much information as legally possible to potentially safeguard themselves.
