
A stabbing in El Paso County over the weekend resulted in an arrest, according to information released by the local sheriff's office. Deputies and investigators were dispatched to the scene of the crime in the parking lot of a business at 6400 Omaha Boulevard shortly before 9 PM on August 1st. A victim was treated on the scene before being taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office worked to quickly piece together the events leading to the assault. Witnesses at the location were able to identify 31-year-old Adrian Espinoza as the alleged stabber. After conducting interviews and collecting evidence across various locations, detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause, and an arrest warrant was promptly issued for Espinoza on charges of first-degree assault and aggravated retaliation against a witness or victim.
In a statement obtained by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Joseph Roybal commended the rapid response and efficiency of the responding officers. "I want to personally thank the deputies, investigators, and support staff who responded with speed, professionalism, and determination," Sheriff Roybal expressed. "Their quick actions led to the safe arrest of a dangerous suspect and helped bring justice to the victim."
