The I-10 eastbound ramps at Exit 72 – Trumps Road (Egan) in Acadia Parish will be closed for construction from 7:00 p.m. on August 18 to 9:00 a.m. on August 23, with breaks in the mornings for traffic. Workers will perform milling and overlay maintenance on the ramps. Closures may change if weather conditions require, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says drivers wanting to reach Trumps Road from I-10 Eastbound should follow a detour: continue east to Exit 76 (LA 91), go north on LA 91, then take I-10 Westbound back to Trumps Road. Drivers leaving Trumps Road to go east on I-10 should go west to Exit 65 (LA 97), head south on LA 97, then turn east onto I-10.
During ramp renovations, emergency vehicles will not have access, and drivers should plan ahead for possible delays. Detour signs will guide traffic, and no vehicle width restrictions are expected. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists to "drive with caution through the construction sit and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment" and to follow the directions of on-site crews.
