Drivers in Jefferson Parish should expect delays next week as roadwork begins on LA 49 (Williams Blvd). According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, both northbound and southbound lanes will have partial closures starting Monday next week at 9:00 a.m. The work is scheduled to finish Friday at 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.
The project includes landscaping and traffic signal upgrades, with alternating single-lane closures between W Metairie Ave and I-10. Closures may affect both left and right lanes between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
Officials advise drivers to plan for traffic disruptions. While no official detours have been announced, commuters may consider alternate routes.
