A juvenile in Fall River has been arrested on multiple charges, including terroristic threats and firearms violations, as reported in a recent post by the City of Fall River Police Department on social media. The investigation, which began last Friday, led to a search of the suspect's Orange Street residence. According to the police department's statement, the suspect, a 17-year-old, was already under GPS monitoring for serious charges including Armed Robbery and Assault to Murder.
During the operation, as officers made entry, the juvenile attempted to hastily throw a handgun out of a window, which was eventually recovered by the authorities. The recovered firearm is described as a Taurus .380 handgun. The juvenile now faces charges of being in possession of a large capacity firearm, a firearm without an FID card, ammunition without an FID card, a large capacity feeding device, and for making a bomb/hijack threat.
The arrest is the result of a collaborative effort between the Community and School Threat Assessment (C.A.S.T.), the Patrol Bureau, the Emergency Services Unit, and detectives from both C.A.S.T. and the Major Case Division. The coordinated approach underscores the department's commitment to addressing the potential for violent incidents and upholding safety as paramount. "Every officer within the department plays a vital role, but all are grounded in the shared mission of making our city safer," highlighted the Fall River Police Department.
The case illustrates the high stakes that law enforcement officers routinely face and the importance of interdepartmental cooperation. The police department has vowed to persistently work to safeguard the community and ensure swift justice. "We are united in holding those who oppose this core belief accountable, and we will continue to bring them before the criminal justice system to answer for their actions," the Fall River Police Department stated in their announcement. The juvenile's arrest serves to remind that the community's well-being is contigent upon the rigor and vigilance of those entrusted with upholding the law.
