Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue was alerted to the incident around 8:30 a.m. and upon arrival they found heavy smoke, but were quickly able to get the fire, under control. WSVN reported that no injuries were reported, in the incident. An elderly resident managed to escape from the flames unharmed.

The aftermath of the fire left a family without a home. To assist, the Red Cross is providing the affected individuals with emergency financial assistance, along with health and mental health services as informed by WSVN.

While the material loss is evident, the fact that there were no physical injuries serves as a small consolation for those involved. The community and emergency services are coming together to provide support and aid to those affected.
