
Four individuals were hospitalized after a police chase involving a reported stolen vehicle concluded with a crash on yesterday in DeKalb County. The incident, which began at approximately 10:10 a.m., led to two adults and two teenagers being taken to local hospitals due to injuries sustained during the collision. The DeKalb County Police initially responded to alerts of a suspicious automobile situated near Yorkdale Drive and Wellington Terrace. Upon arrival, police identified the car at the intersection of South Hairston Road and Covington Highway, later verifying it had been reported stolen. The scenario unfolded rapidly as officers attempted to stop the car, only for the driver to brazenly run red lights, prompting a police chase. According to information obtained by Atlanta News First, the pursuit was abruptly ended when the vehicle struck a tree in the 1700 block of South Hairston Road.
The identities of those involved in the crash have not been released by police officials, nor has there been any indication on whether charges will be pressed. Currently, the conditions of the injured parties are also undisclosed.
