In an incident emerging from the calm of late-night rural Franklin County, the swift actions of local law enforcement brought an abrupt end to a series of smash-and-grab thefts. According to a social media post from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Jerod Bradford engaged in what might seem routine surveillance when he noted a person exiting a wooded area near the Gas-N-Go on Highway 127. That individual proceeded to shatter the store’s glass door with a large rock, initiating an act of vandalism and theft that would quickly meet its match.
The post from the Sheriff's office detailed that Deputy Bradford, supported by deputies Eli Neyman, Ryan Maiden, and Chris Simmons, followed the suspect into the Gas-N-Go and apprehended him amidst the shards of glass and the echo of the store's alarm.
The individual, a juvenile whose name is withheld due to legal protections, not only succumbed to custody but also confessed to two similar incidents in the vicinity.
