Once again, the Franklin Police Department's Traffic Unit is taking home some serious accolades for their efforts in traffic safety. At the Tennessee Highway Safety Office's (THSO) annual Law Enforcement Challenge Ceremony, the unit didn't just snag an award — they owned the podium with a two-peat victory, mirroring their previous year's success.
The Franklin Police Department won three top awards at the ceremony, including the Overall Winner Award for Police Department, first place in the 101–200 Officers category, and the Regional Award for Middle Tennessee.
According to the city's official announcement, Chief Deb Faulkner didn't hold back her pride for the team, stating, "This achievement speaks to the consistency, professionalism, and heart our officers put into their work." She went further to add, "Winning once is an honor, but earning these top awards two years in a row shows just how committed our team is to making Franklin’s roads among the safest in the state."
The honored Franklin Police Department's Traffic Unit overcame the challenge against more than 60 competing agencies from across Tennessee, with a noticeable focus on Policies and Guidelines, THSO Activities, Incentives and Recognition, and Public Information and Education. Getting recognized for such rigorous criterias, the unit is clearly pedaling comprehensive traffic safety initiatives.
