Lumber City, Georgia, was shattered when Dwayne Clark, aged 42, became a homicide victim, prompting an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) at the request of the local police department. Details provided by the GBI state that Clark was found lifeless in his S. Church Street residence on Monday evening, after being shot multiple times.

It was a relative who, at 8:53 p.m., stumbled upon the grim scene and subsequently called 911 to report the death; the Lumber City Police Department responded to the call and later sought the GBI's expertise to further probe the incident. The investigative agency is interviewing numerous individuals in an attempt to unravel the violent act. Clark's body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Pooler for an autopsy, as GBI reported.

No arrests have been made thus far, with the inquiry still active and ongoing. The GBI encourages anyone with potentially relevant information or insights to reach out, providing several means to do so: a phone call to their Eastman Regional Investigative Office at 478-374-6988, an online submission at their website, or through the 'See Something, Send Something' mobile app.

In accordance with standard operating procedures, following the conclusion of the investigation, the findings and all gathered evidence will be handed over to the Oconee District Attorney's Office, which will then take the necessary course of action in this tragic case.
