Goodyear Vice Mayor Wally Campbell and Councilmember Laura Kaino are leveling up their leadership skills as they have been tapped for the Civic Craft Leadership Program, an initiative by the Arizona League of Cities and Towns aimed at arming municipal elected officials with the tools they need to better serve their communities. The program, which was recently launched and is nonpartisan, spans a full year and includes both virtual and in-person sessions designed to foster collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas. According to a news release from the City of Goodyear, Campbell and Kaino will join a select cohort of only 50 state leaders chosen for this opportunity.

It's clear that both officials view this as more than just an opportunity for personal growth, as Vice Mayor Campbell expressed, "Serving the people of Goodyear means constantly learning and seeking new ways to address challenges,” as per the City of Goodyear.  He and Kaino are set to engage with numerous expert speakers, tangle with case studies rooted in real-world scenarios, and connect with peers facing similar municipal hurdles.

As Councilmember Laura Kaino put it, “This program offers a rare opportunity to collaborate with elected officials from across Arizona, share best practices, and bring back innovative solutions that will directly benefit our city now and for years to come.” Both Campbell and Kaino, who reveals the City's announcement, are intent on using the program to its fullest to tap into new resources and cultivate initiatives that will uplift Goodyear.
